Gary Albertson is Senior Vice President – Corporate Development and Strategy at SUEZ North America
Gary Albertson is responsible for all business development and strategic activities for SUEZ North America. This includes growth in new environmental partnerships and new acquisitions in the U.S and Canada. He is also responsible for external relations with multilateral agencies, industry groups and partner companies in the water sector.
Gary has over 30 years of experience in the water industry with much of it focused in the field of operations and asset management of water and wastewater systems servicing the public. He previously served as Vice President – Business Development where he helped secure and manage a $1.2-billion, 20-year wastewater services partnership with Nassau County, NY, the largest in the nation’s history. Prior to that, Gary served as Vice President – Capital Investment Planning and Delivery in which he was responsible for asset management activities and delivering a $1 billion capital program throughout all of SUEZ in North America (formerly United Water) companies.
Prior to joining SUEZ North America, Gary served as a Senior Project Manager with Montgomery Watson (now Stantec) consulting engineers where he was responsible for engineering and project management for municipal water utilities and environmental service companies.
He is a board member of the Suez Research program that invests over $140 million per year in advanced technologies and operational strategies to improve operations and performance in water and the environment. He is a member of the National Association of Water Companies (NAWC), the Water Research Foundation, the Design Build Institute of America, the International Water Association and the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
Gary holds a M.S. in environmental engineering from Manhattan College and a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Hartford and is a Registered Professional Engineer.
